Narrative Writing

 For the past two weeks, Room 10 has been learning how to write narrative stories. After unpacking the structural features and the language features of a narrative writing, the students were given a picture prompt to write a narrative about. Here is what Daniel and Tavyn wrote.

Introduction Build up the problem  The Problem The Resolution  Ending	On a sunny day when the sun was shining like a laser, It was Kate's birthday, her Dad bought Kate a swing set. Except Dad bought the non-built swing set, and he forgot to buy the pre-built swing set (stupid Dad). They couldn’t refund it, because Kate already ripped the box open like a monster, when it came to the doorstep. They had to build it before the screws got lost. Kate started to go get the parts while Dad looked at the instructions, there were a lot of screws on the ground and barely any of them were attached. The swing was very wobbly; it looked like it was going to fall and kill someone. Kate was scared, so she stepped away from the swing. Before she could tell dad the swing set with 85% of the screws fell… Dad got injured when the swing set fell on him, Kate didn’t know what to do, so she went inside the house and screamed Mum quickly came to Kate. Katie told her Mum about what happened, Mum quickly ran, then tripped and fell on the glass table. Kate’s Mum told her to call the ambulance and 111. Kate quickly called 111. The Phone answered and Kate told everything to the Man. The Man asked Kate her address. Kate told the man her address. Minutes later, the ambulance arrived at Kate’s home. The ambulance took mum and dad to the hospital because both of them were badly injured. Kate waited a while until her Mum came and sat next to her. Weeks later, dad got healed. We went in a car and drove to the hospital. Dad looked like a mummy. He had a lot of casts, it was all over his body. Months later, Dad's broken bones were healed. It was Kate’s birthday again, Dad wanted to buy a better swing set but then he accidentally, bought the same swing set again (STUPID DAD).
