Learning from Home

Room 10 has been learning from home throughout this level 4 lockdown period. I felt a bit overwhelmed at the beginning of this lockdown period because I was worried about how our whanau and the learners would cope with a sudden change in our learning environment and the delivery of learning online.

As we got into the third day of the lockdown, I felt a surge of inspiration after the feedback given by the students who were hanging out with me on Google Hangouts. They felt working in their own spaces from the comfort of their homes kept them focussed since there was no one to disturb them. They could also communicate with their teacher and fellow classmates and it developed their patience and resilience.

So far, Room 10 has had 18 Hangouts with a total of 22 students in attendance. Here is a glimpse of who attended today.
