All about me
My name is Anastacia. I am Samoan and I have two sisters and a brother. I go to Glenbrae school with my sister Anita and I have been in this school for 3 and a half years. I love playing soccer, guitar, piano, cleaning, cooking, sleeping, writing, reading and maths.
I love math because we have to use numbers and learn new things like fraction, timetables, division, addition and subtraction. I love writing because I like using all those punctuations and learning how to write a lot of good stories. I also love reading stories people write.
I love eating healthy food. I like playing with my friends outside and at school. I really love learning new things and making new friends. When I make new friends I feel really happy and excited.
I love having fun because its the way to get your learning done afterwards (for me). I love singing and dancing because its my passion and that's what God gave to me as a talent. I love watching DIY'S on you tube because that keeps me organized, clean and healthy.
I hope you have enjoyed reading my recount about me and learnt something about me.

Room 10's Birthday Months
Room 10's Birthday Months.
This term, for the last three Fridays, Room 10 has been studying Statistics in Maths. Today we learnt how to create a table and a chart using Google sheets. First of all, we created a table like the one below and then we collected the data for each month. After that we created a Bar Graph using the data we had collected.
From this data, now we know that October has the most number of students with their birthdays. I felt very excited after learning how to create a table and a chart using Google sheets.

Water Fun Day at Glenbrae
Last Friday, we had water fun day at our school. We quickly got changed into our sports clothes and assembled in our classroom. Then we accompanied Mr. Nath to the netball courts for the whole school assembly. Mrs. Tofa spoke to us about the rules and the different events we were going to take part in.
Our first activity was three legged race with Mr Nath. We had to pick a partner and fill a cup with water. Then we had to run with our cup of water up to our house bucket that was in the middle of the netball courts and put the water in it. It was so much fun but we hardly had much water left in our cups when we reached the house bucket.
The second activity was under and over with Mrs. Ripata. We had to dip a sponge in water and then run to the house bucket and sqeeze the water into it. We all got wet running with the sponge.
After that we did a zig zag relay with cups of water. We had to tip the water in the cup into the bin that was in the middle of the netball courts.
Next was the water slide. we had to fill a cup with water and then slide down and tip the water in the cup out into the bin.
After the water slide activity was the obstacle race. We had to get some water in a cup and crawl under a chair and then run to the bin to fill it up.
Finally our last activity was walk the plank. In this activity we had to get a cup and fill it with water from a bucket with water and then run on a plank that was covered with soapy water. It was very challenging and we tried our best to walk across the plank without falling.
Then we all assembled on the netball courts. Mrs. Tofa thanked everyone for participating and announced the winners. Kauri house was the winner for this years water fun day.
Water fun day was fantastic because at the end we had a water balloon fight. My favorite activities were the water slide and the under and over. I had so much fun playing with my classmates and it one was the best day of my life.

Room 10's First Swimming Lesson
Thursday was day 2 of school and Room 10 students were all eager to go for a swim. As soon as it was twenty five past nine, Mahoney came and asked me if we were going for a swim. Guess what happened when I said yes. Everyone was so excited and as soon as I asked Room 10 to get ready, all students who had their swimming togs got ready quickly and soon we were on our way to the school swimming pool.
Our first lesson was on getting in and out of the pool safely and breathing under water. Everyone enjoyed the first session in the pool and were all eager to take on the challenge of getting their swimming togs to school everyday so that they could learn as much as they could.

Day 1- 2017
Wow - What a day with so many children turning for classes to begin the 2017 academic year. This year I am in Room 10 with a year 5 & 6 class of bubbling and enthusiastic learners who are so energetic and eager to learn.
Today we were able to set our learning goals and have a korero about our school and class matrix. We also welcomed Dyson, a new boy to our class. He has settled down so well with everyone and has managed to purchase his chromebook today. Four other students also got their chromebooks as well today.
I have to work extra hard to upgrade my class site and blog as well so that we could share all our learning with everyone.
I am really looking forward to get all the students back in my class soon.
